Hey guys, I bought this grill shell yesterday from an older gentleman and he did not know what it was off of and neither do I. I have spent several hours searching the internet with no luck on finding out what it came off of. Any help on figuring out what this grill is from would be much appreciated! It has a half round cutout on each side of the top for a 4 headlight car maybe?? It has very old chrome on it and one the hood flange there are scraps of cloth weather stripping Here are some measurements Radiator opening is 21.5” wide, 27.5” tall Outside is 28” wide, 33” tall
Headlights never went that high on cars from that era (mid 20s-early 30s). Probably a neat looking car, whatever it was. Someone will know...
Thats right. You can allways ID a early vintage Vauxhall ( even up to the mid 1950s ) by the top corners of the grille and how that form follows through along the sides if the hood with a big stainless trim. Must have been a designer there who had a thing with hood strips . So how would a vintage Vauxhall grille end up in CA. ?
I just googled multiple years of Vauxhalls and none of them have the raised ridge that goes from the radiator cap down to the radiator. Instead, they all have a round Vauxhall emblem in that area. Not saying it's not a Vauxhall but I have not found one with the ridge and they all have the round emblem.
