It's a term that is becoming way overused! Every time someone purchases a car that has been in a garage for a month is now a "barn find".

  7. I would also consider cars spending decades in a garage covered with junk, "barn finds"...

I have a car in my garage since 1986. I refer to it as "my own, personal barn-find"....lol....

No, wait! If you already know about it, it’s not a ‘find’ .......for you. There is hope though, you could lose your memory and forget it is there...:D

I actually bought a Corvette two months ago, 50 years in a barn, last reg '74, but haven't posted about it because of the stigma.

If you can't "find" it due to junk around and covering it, then you move the stuff and "find" it, it's a find!

So, how do I classify my '57...sat in the garage from '88 to around 2000.....then I moved it to a Barn we turned into a shop. Then needed space in the barn/shop and moved it to under the cover along side the barn/shop.

    Oh wait...I got it...neglected;)

"Original Mileage" guess that is the same as "Barn Find Mileage". Bob

  18. I found this barn near my house but never told anyone about it because I didn't realize it was lost.

Then how else do you tell someone about an unusually low mileage car ? The 64 Caddy I inherited in 2012 was 38000 and change miles. And mine was a basement find

    I think it's simple.

"I found XXX that was in a garage for 30 years"
"I found XXX that was under a tree for 30 years"

Ofcourse noone wants to admit they found a XXX that was just moved to the barn 2 weeks earlier....right?

Bottom line is, there really is no value added for where you found the XXX, it's all in the condition.

I`ve had my car for over 30 years. It has never been in a barn. So is it a survivor.

My 53 was left in a barn/garage for over 50 years ...so what is it ?

  28. My dad had a '47 Ford convertible in our barn for about 20 years. I guess I grew up with a "barn find"... well somebody found it when he sold it!
