Technical Clutch Arm

    Hi I need some advice. I have a Vern Tardel 32 cross member in a 29 frame with a 39 peddle assembly and a 39 trans. on a 8BA. What Clutch Arm do I need ?

    I used one from a transmission I had. I believe it was from a ‘35

    I think that is what I have 3 3/8" straight up C/C. That puts it on a angle down to the trans and it only moves a little bit. I don't know I guess it will work.

    ok, sounds like what I am using. The stock style rod from the pedal to the clutch arm is adjustable to help take up play.

    Hi I have that. I did read a some thing from Van Pelt that sounds like I would need a 33 34 arm. The 32s look like they will be off set to much. I am in line now but to short may be no enough throw.

    Having a good knowledge of geometry is your friend. I have heated the arm of choice and bent it for alignment many times. Henry steel is not bothered by heating or bending.

  9. A 35 to 39 arm will suit you fine and keep the leverages and travel right with the stock 39 pedal.
