Well maybe my car has something else wrong with it. Do you think my pumps aren’t pushing any water? Yesterday when it was idling, the cap was so hot you could not even touch it. The amount of heat shooting out of the hood side louvers was incredible. I was thinking about pulling the hood off to see if that helps. I really don’t know what else to do rather than get a new radiator.

What does your car have for an ignition system? What kind of timing are you running?

Comparing a Model A radiator to a '32 or '34 V8 radiator is comparing apples to oranges.
The A has 2 rows of tubes, the V8's will have 4 rows of tubes.

Rebuilt crab dizzy by bubba, set up on his machine. Cars runs excellent, no popping, misfiring or anything. Starts easily. I don’t think it is a timing issue. It is getting heat soaked. I drove it about 20 miles from my house. Stayed at 180-190 the whole time. Let car sit for about three hours. Trip home is was running at 200-210. Let sit for an hour, took it to the store (1 mile) let idle in parking lot for maybe two minutes, temp was up to 230. It just keeps getting gradually hotter until it pukes.

Not impossible. You can trim the blades to fit in a shroud.

My radiator must be a replacement from the 50’s as that was the last time it was worked on. It’s core is 2 1/4 and it has 3 rows.

So I ditched the hood and it definitely ran cooler. I stopped a bunch of times and let it just sit and idle. Temp never went over 185-190. I think the confines of the 28-29 hood and the fact that I have an originalish radiator just created too much heat under the hood.

My avatar was a flathead V8 A with a V8 60 and a walker radiator and never over heated. I'm building a 30 V8 A with an 52 flathead and have a Brassworks 4 core radiator in it , not drivable but have had it running. A pressurized radiator will also help, raises the boiling temperature. I always run 160 thermostats with 1/4 " bypass holes drilled in them, they run cooler with something to slow down the flow. Look at the size of the radiator in a 36 Ford and it is probably 30% larger than your 29 radiator.
