Hey that's one of ours! I was in partnership with my Father in law in selling those in kits. That particular one was built by Metropolis speed and kustom.
    Cheers,

They sold it at BJ auction years ago. I think its been through several owners since. There is a Hamber who built one. The only kit set up for a flattie. He is from TN, cant remember his handle though, sorry. We also got front cover of R+C years ago.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

...I thought this was a connecting dot with the racer above but it's not. The similarity is both are non Transverse Sprung Beam Ford based Hotrod Racers with this pic above being either front wheel driven or part of an all wheel driven system...it actually reflects a connection to the Hotrod Crowd utilizing innovation present or being the designer of to give the winning edge over the others while meeting class guidelines.

It was probably much more widespread than we would assume with both positive and negative gains realized.

By the way after further research @Jimmy B identified the suspension as Citroën Traction Avant at the link above...Jimmy you at all aware of what was in the Cardboard nosed Don Blair Entry for front suspension?

Pretty incredible captures with this one shared by Hamber @CW's40TPU...

I figure CW is 77 years young at this time...I hope he still has his 40 pickup...

...High Steppin Deuce...typical racing stance for the time...I thought but believe the scribble graphic is in fact just that, another note the hood off for racing...;)...and the battery location and note the Fenders both front and rear have had extensive bobbing and compliment the experience...Great period details to consider...

7-27-8.JPG Stogy, here are more pics of The Cheetah. If I recall correctly modified 52 Ford chassis. I'll have to look back at some old Hot Rod magazines. I believe it was in an issue around 54-55 or so. 7-27-3.JPG

Thanks @studebakerjoe for the expanding on this blending trend that must have accelerated with those MG Bonneville Streamliner trials...It looks to have been one very purpose built Roadracer along the likes of Max's Old Yeller and the Fred Vogel Roadster...Man some elements of this hobby you sure have to be careful where you put your arm or hand...that bit of rear fender obviously doesn't stop just dirt...and those rear suspension arms are something else...I get the feeling that this MG/Hotrod Mix fit somewhere in between these Wild things below...
