It's been raining the last few days so I have been in the shop working on the latest from the house of Hillbilly A go pedal
The "go" pedal was a bit of a lark , then I thought about it a while. I have used several cable throttles as they are real problem solvers but I just don't love them. They have a street rod feel to them and if they hang up there is no positive way to suck back the throttle. I have always liked the Ford spoon pedal and the simple linkage that bolts to the firewall. It is mechanical and positive and seals the firewall from the engine bay. So , I began making molds and casting the parts needed to make my own version of the Ford spoon. I spent a couple days and nights making , refining , casting , recasting and machining. I came up with this... These are my pattern pieces These are the castings Here's the assembly on the bench And here it is mounted in the model A. I will be making a different firewall so this one is just for trial and error purposes. So there you go , it started as a bit of a joke and turned into something useable. Typical me posting this on a Friday afternoon. It'll probably get buried . Oh well!
Bring a selection of all your goodies to Bonneville! They will sell like hotcakes! I'll even buy some!
I may not make it to Bonneville this year , they still have the border closed . If I do it will be a spur of the moment thing.
just received my tenderizers ,man your fast your in canada above wash state and im in south florida i got em in a week including whatever customs was involved ,, they look awesome quality is top notch they are really cool ,even the wife likes em (a rarity) , man you do a good job ,, ill post some pics installed in my 27 sedan they will be perfect .... fabricator john miss you dad
Really nice parts! I especially love the pedal assembly. Do you use green sand or oil bonded sand in your castings? Nice work!
I have been using petrobond sand. It gives pretty good detail and can be reused several times. It costs more but is easier to use.
I use petrobond also and agree with you on the detail. What kind of oil do you use in your muller? I use 2 cycle oil.
I use 2 cycle also but have used non detergent 30w with about the same results....less is more though.
