Welcome to the HAMB, just found this build. Like that Cabriolet cowl and door find, back yard views are really nice. Bob
@Leadbeater posts #23 and 24 the pics aren't showing up...just redx's...The Jalopies getting some great running banger power...awesome...
Looking at the location of the stake pockets, looks to me like you found a Model A bed. You did good!
well seeds are all in the ground, rain has let up, time to start putin things together. no help today everyone out doing a beautiful sunday here. im sure something is going to blow up soon cause this went way way to easy almost fell into place I really really flukes out on my header angles and all that may have to trim them a bit so tire doesn't run into it, but overall very very happy. all my helpers are thinkin its ok to,
well everything looked good at the end of the day. next day something didn't look right. seems I have a tweeked frame some days its 2 steps back one ahead
took my measureing stick, bubble level and square out had me baffled for a good hour I finally twigged to the problem seems farmer brown had welded up the badly broken front crossmember sometime in the past, and he welded up the hole for the center bolt to fit in so it would rock back and forth on it depending which u bolt got the most torque. so took me a bit to source a good crossmember, and out with the old in with the new. 2 steps ahead today I guess.
not sure what its gona be yet. i have a decent set of coup 1/4rs but i also have a real good A truckbox
lil more progress today B pillars all cleaned up new striker plates and installed. just gotta build some braceing now
found time to get at it a bit more yesterday haying season here bussy bussy. i built a small cage to hold the B pillars square and where they should be . doors work very well, im happy.picked up all my patch panels last week now its time to start patching up a set of beat 1/4s
unfortunatly ive been to bussy with other things this winter but come spring it will get finished. the rear quarters are in the shop getting worked on as time permits
i did find time to build an ultra traditional header out of an A driveshaft tube, put a stromburg and burns downdraft on my other speedster. turned out really good sure made it LOUD much more than i expected. havent had it out on the road yet with the -35 ish weather. ran it long enough inside to tune the carb and warm it up to set the gaskets
well wow time flies havent had time to finish this thing, until now. found a decent set of sportcoup 1/4s. everything prity much welded up, and in place for final fitting.
feels good got most of the welding on the rear quarters done today. drivers side one back on tomorow i hope to have pass side on, and fit up the pkg tray. this is the longest build time for me ever. usually build one in 3-4 weeks haha
