I have a 41 Pontiac Streamliner that I wanted to put a OHC six in. Found a few of these engines but none were the 4bbl. Sprint OHC's. Ended up finding a 270 GMC with a "H" head, so that's what will be going in, along with a 57 Chevy 3 speed OD trans.

Wheels are for mock up only........had them and the width (8 inch) and offset is correct. Jury is still out on the final choice.

I personally would always build my own motor and transmission mounts, regardless of engine choice. And there's no way I could or would take advice on where to locate them, as it's probably not going to be perfect for my personal uses.
I'd pick the engine and trans, and tear the whole front clip off the car. Then hang engine and trans inside the frame rails, and once leveled, and located side to side, start mocking up mounts. If you plan to also run headers, I temporarily install them on the engine also, just to ensure they'll clear everything, and wont need reworking later.
Engine swaps aren't rocket science, and with such a nice large engine bay your car will accept just about any V8 you might choose to drop in it.

This is my wife's 1940 and I first put a Pontiac 287 and a 4speed in it. Now it has a 1963 421 Super Duty with the 4 Peed and 9 inch rear end. This was a 6 cylinder car and the sheet metal all fit fine. I made my own crossmember for the trans. IMG_0583.JPG PA230003 (1).JPG
