We have all heard the story..... One owner 1963 Impala ,numbers matching, SS, 409, 4 speed, no power steering , no power brakes, no air , no rust, and its for sale. Monday a friend of my dads called and this was his story. Here's all the info check it out for me please. While your at it get me a price to fix it up so I can drive it. I did and it looks like the real deal. Dads friend calls back and we talk, He is not going to do this one but if i want it he can hook me up with the owner. Its just a 5 hour drive away......Not my first wild goose chase. We loaded up this morning and it turns out... ITS A REAL LIVE UNICORN boys and I own it now

Awesome We need a better money shot of that engine. No interior? r Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
QC 440 340 hp 4bbl rochester. Its turns over freely and has oil pressure and compression in all 8 cylinders, Im going to feed it some fuel and fire tomorrow. Yes I seem to have picked up all but a few of the pieces. We are sorting through boxes as we go.
Very cool. I know a restored one with the same engine/trans/rear as left the factory. You have a keeper
I like it! I see the factory tach housing, those are cool. When you get a chance, check if it has one or two upper control links on the rear end. I hear various things about which powertrains got the second link, and I'm interested to learn.
We borrowed the carburator from my chevelle, the points from a distributor I had laying around, and a coil from an engine in the back of the shop THE 409 RUNS. I would post a video but cant figure it out. Im so happy right now. Now we check out the trans and brakes.
She's so fine your 409. Outstanding score, brute horsepower from the factory before any musclecar. Like a road battle crusier.
Well dadgum that is a great find! I'm happy for you and look forward to more photos as you bring it back!
My 63 also has a QC 409/4sp. looking for side moldings and console... Thanks Ted n Vegas [email protected]
