New from Kentucky future Southeast Gasser

    Names Jerry and I'm new here from Kentucky recently purchased a old 55 gasser that I call BAD55 plans are to get it running and stopping and show it at a few hot rod shows close then hit the drag strip with the Southeast Gassers.. Hope you enjoy 0305171221a-1.jpg 0305171220-1.jpg [​IMG][​IMG]

    That car is 100 kinds of cool!Are you planning to run C or D gas with it?It looks like a perfect weapon for one of those classes.
    Stay in close touch with Quain throughout your build,as he is a great guy who is super quick to help when you need a hand,and he will do everything he can to help you finish the car and soon as possible,and spend more time racin',and less time wrenchin'.:)

    Sorry for the delayed response... Yes Quain is probably getting tired of my questions to be honest lol.. I'm asking something different at least once a week.. I'm thinking d/gas starting off and to see how the car performs I'm running a standard bore small journal 327 so my cubes are small and car big lol

    I have it tore down replacing the front floor boards right now and a whole lot of cleaning the under carriage.. Engine is done and collecting parts is about all at the moment

    Yes a few updates.. All rust is repaired and wheel wells cut out, engine and trans are mocked up and I have the parts for the rear end just need to build it.. Thanks for your interest in this old car ill keep you posted as I move it along

    Rear end is done.. I went with a Strange Engineering center section and 35 spline axles with a spool 0616181624_HDR.jpg 0616181514a_HDR.jpg 0616181731_HDR.jpg .. Still need to build ladder bars and install in the car tho 0616181514_HDR.jpg

    Thanks Quain you've been a huge help already and I truly appreciate it.. I'm ready for a clutch and input shaft for my trans ill give you a call very soon

    Be sure to check your axle bearing ends to make sure they line up with the carrier bearings / spool after all the ladder bar brackets and welding is done. They usually have to be cut back off and re squared after all the welding.

    Ok will do thanks for the heads up... They're good at the moment but ill check them after I weld the ladder bars on which should be this weekend..

    I don't ever have any luck with then staying in place. I have learned to just tack them the housing ends on until the final assembly then re square them.

    We are still planning to be there, help us spread the word. Already 71 Southeast Gassers Association legal cars pre-entered. June 6th London Dragway
