i don't know if it's the way they look or the old cars but old stations sure had a lot more class back then. they were enjoyable to go into. nowadays you can't wait to pay and go. i remember a while back there was a nostalgia thing going on with drive in food places ,like Mcdonalds buildings and happy days type eateries, why not gas stations?

 

Believe it or not back in those days a lot of homes never had a scale in them because people spent their money on more essential "Stuff" as money was tight. Like @Copper Top said a coin put in got your weight and sometimes a cheapo prize.

Where I am currently it's the same story and the ladies eye light up when they see I have a free one in my bedroom and the local 7-11's all have a pay one in front.

I drove past this old gas station building yesterday in south Minneapolis (for those who are local, it's on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 38th Street.)
