Got all of these for free from the scrap yard before they got crushed. The smallest (green)is just a case The largest is really stuck and only has one of the end covers. The V71 type has both end bearing covers and rotors but has no other covers. This one turns easily. I'm calling them GMC to categorize them in my Photo's folder Movin/on
look them up? https://dieselpro.com/detroit-diesel-blower-53-71-92-149-series.html The pictures you provided are almost good enough to ID them...looks like a 6V71, and a 6V53, but not sure on the other. You can see them from different angles, we can't.
Top photo, front blower is 8V71, it uses three angled mounting bolts per side. The blower in the rear is a 6V53, it mounts with bolts through the end plates and has no bearings on the shafts, it needs pressurized oil. Your empty case is for a 6V71 as it only has two angled bolt bosses per side. Years ago Dyer offered 6V71 kits but they never had the popularity of the 4-71 or 6-71 blower. Somebody may have adapted an 8V71 to street use but I’ve never seen one.
Wall hangers in any case. They'd cost more to set them up than a completed 6-71. Plus you'd have to come up with your own intake manifold to utilize the angled hold down fasteners. Mike
As stated by @Fordors the empty looks to be a 6V71. Sold one a while back. You could make a nifty mailbox out of that one.
