The guy said it was to rough for his build, might be suitable for a rat rod.
    Perfect for my roadster build.

I'd say that you win the deal of the day award, that looks real fixable to me. Plus the shell will clean up real nice too.

You did ask him what other old car parts he had, right?

Yeah, It was meant as a joke because of the wording in the ad. Certainly don't consider it rat rod material.

Wow! Great score and it looks easily repairable. When I checked out the thread title I felt a little like Queen Victoria ..."We are not amused!". Today is Victoria Day after all. But in the words of William Shakespeare, "Alls well that ends well.".

Good score! A few years ago I picked up a pristine 32 dash for $20.00, guy told me it was an old Oldsmobile.

  19. I search Craigslist for "r@t rod" all the time. Not because I'm looking for r@t rod parts, but you can find a lot of good original iron, etc from someone's misguided and stalled r@t rod project. I suspect that as the r@t rod era declines there will be some good deals to be found.

I'm impressed and heavily jealous. Always pays to follow up on that stuff immediately. I have jumped on similar deals only to be turned away because the seller was informed by some other looky-loo that "it's worth way more than that" and then they don't want to put a number on it. Good job getting the deal sealed.

that's one of my regulars that I search for too. No interest in r@t rods at all, but it certainly seems like when someone is selling stuff and they don't really know what it is, other than an old car part, they throw that in the title.

RR and TROG are the search words that drive me silly.

Maybe check and see if the 32 body was deemed to rough and replaced may be another deal to be made cheap

Kudos. I have ran into deals as well. I always ask at garage sales.

As a seller that may exactly be where your ride ends up and I'm not talking TROG...

When one has decided to sell it's just another bunch of wallets to potentially fill your palms with dough and a grimacing face at the same time.

Glad the Ole Deuce Shell will have an inspired vintage resurgence rather than Mad Max meets the vise grips...:p
