Oh Damn I miss my '57 TR-3. Maybe even a bit more than the girl who used to ride around in it with me. Both were simply beautiful in my eyes, but the small grill TR-3 still turns my head when I see one these days.

Here, Ol' Yaller Mark Two crowds a Ferrari Testarossa at Pomona. Referred to by Balchowsky as a Buick-Kurtis, it did use most of the parts from a Kurtis 500 kit but was built using many modifications devises.

One that I had not seen before of Sam Parriott's City of Industry Kurtis--looks like Indy at the Nationals

Anybody have an idea what kind of car that is? The show/surroundings seem to have a European air about it, B/CA doesn't sound familiar to me, guy with a cigarette would be old US but people look too proper. LB where did you get this one?

Yes it is British and here is another shot of it. IIRC it was MG based with a Jaguar XK-E styled front end. I remember that the car had some US history in more recent times as I read about it a few years back
    [IMG]

Update! It was MG-B based and a couple of US servicemen were involved in the project. It was last seen here in the US at at Bonhams auction in 2013 when it did not sell.

Thanks Roo, that is a pretty interesting story. It said it went 12.50 it seems a little slow for an injected 396 even if it's stock. My MG in that time period was going 11.1 with an injected 327 with probably a little less HP than is claimed in the article, we weighed 2300#. Cool car and story
    nontheless.

Bill Murphy's red and white Kurtis-Cadillac, seen here at Santa Barbara in 1960, was a familiar sight at California road races during the late 1950s. Murphy, a Culver City Buick dealer, was heavily involved in road racing.

One of the best memories is a band playing inside an old aircraft hangar and probably none of the band spoke English fluently but they sounded EXACTLY like AC/DC.
Was there with the lady I was married to at the time and Ove had a couple of the members and gf's show us around, keep an eye on us and make sure we had a good time.
    WE DID!
Really like Sweden even though my last name is Norwegian. Father's family runs back to Ragnar's time and mother's to Rollo's time in Normandy.

    Back on topic.

In the midst of a somewhat similar project, I gave some thought to the T-5 vs. early 4 sp. Gearing issues caused me to go with the 4sp (+ GV OD).

The Rover V-8 is a wonderous engine, evolved from one of those big (for it's time), crude, old american engines. It is a very special motor.

Actually the 215 Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac engine that is the design basis (specifically the Buick version) for the Rover V8 was the smallest V8 manufactured by any of the big three at the time. And for its time it had quite a few innovative design cues which is the reason the Rover purchased the tooling from General Motors.

Don't think there was a prettier special built than the Shingle.
