Recently ran across this picture on the net. I think it is sorta cool kinda. Anyone know anything about this car?
Was built in 1970s in pacific northwest as I remember. Was featured in Rod Action late 1970s. Started with a 49/50 Chevy fleetline. Never saw it in person, liked it from what I saw in the feature.
Interesting shape. Looks like they 'tipped' the back half forward, that skewed the proportions a bit. The rear window has more use as a moon roof...
I saw that car at a Kkoa show in Lansing Mi back in the 90's. it was white then. As high as the back window is I bet it is more of a sunroof than it is a way to see behind you...
Well I can understand that. This car is for sure and for certain not for everyone, it is different that's for sure. Like I said I kinda sorta like it, it is a little out of proportion but what the hell maybe the guy had a vision.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but someone had an idea, went with it and finished it. I give him respect for that.
I'd eliminate the rear window all together. With todays tech, a rearview camera would solve the visibility problem. Looks better than some of the so-called custom abortions of the 50's. Probably drives and handles better too.
I remember that one from the magazine coverage. Thing is it could be fixed and not actually loose the original vibe of the car by shortening the deck lid and moving the window down where it belongs. That might take another top to carry off right though.
I agree that proportions would be better if the deck lid was shortened and the rear window was lowered to where it should be. What does the front look like?
The one from Illinois was a shortened and sectioned white 54 Chevy. But I did have the trailer thing right. Was it ever dark green.
