About fifteen years ago during the winter a group of us guys that started meeting at Arby's just to hang out once week. I've known most for thirty years and some I've known for fifty years. As time past we started meeting year round and then for about the last ten years we've been meeting twice a week. Then the virus crisis arose . Arby's shut down their dining room a couple of weeks before it became mandatory. So from about mid March our only connection has been via group texting. Yesterday the weather was pretty nice and one of the guys offered to have a get together at his home. This turned out to be pretty special as we hadn't hung out together since mid March. Our monthly club meeting was scheduled for today and for the second month in a row I begrudgingly canceled it and I hope it's the last time I am compelled to do so. See you guys sitting around enjoying each others company actually makes me envious, our club has been in existence for 47 years and we have never cancelled a meeting and I hate it happened under my watch. We made the decision last year to have our monthly meetings at Arnold's restaurant private dinning room butt if we are still experiencing this pandemic next month I will host the meeting at my place,and if social distancing ( I'm sick of that term) is still in effect we can take a page from your corona get together. There has got to be light at the end of the tunnel. HRP
What a great idea, the weather is getting nice, just right for a get together! More of us need to do the same, drive our cars and solve most of the world's problems! Good for you guys. KK
The percentage of infection is pretty low by the looks of it. I always said, when I go I want to hit the ground mid-step doing what I love.
That's great you all can get together like that. I wish we could do something like that here where I live. Lots of old cars an owners around here just need to get everyone together and get something organized. Lippy
