well im kinda new here, but hey ill jump right in built a lil speedster A a few years ago and have all kindsa fun with it. bone stock engine except for a B distributor so I don't have to teach the kids retard and advance

anyway on to the next. got a real good B engine with a counterweighted crank from a friend last fall it was driving a welder, and the rumor was it was rebuilt just before they quit using it. been in buddys shed for 20 some years. took it apart and got real lucky, really good inside. head came off without a fight at all was very clean inside.

anyways tore it down and cleaned it up, crank was tight and good. got everything about back together now, have a 5.5 comp head from sniders, and a nice burns downdraft and I even sprung for a new stromburg 97.

today was header day, this is going into another A chassis with a A trans behind it. i have a set of 40 juice brakes for this one. i have the remains of a 31, coup, sport coup, and a roadster so some kinda body will get built, but gotta get the chassis together first

lotsa tweeking left to do to get the pipes all in a line and the same then i think ill use the traditional A driveshaft tube to build a log.
hopefully have this one running around by mid somer aswell. just thought some would be interested, and feel free to comment, this is only my second A i have lots to learn on them

Welcome @Leadbeater, you have quite the backyard for that type of Jalopy and it's funny I thought the straight down pipes looked real Hotrod and then you angled them out...:(...and they still look Hotrod Cool...:D...A to B...very popular Banger stuff...theres a monthly Thread dedicated to All things Hop Up Banger...

There's lots here related in all things Vintage Hotrod and what you have is part of the big picture and yes, We look forward to your adventures. Lots of Great Tin your way too. Bring it on...;)

Is that Your 59 Buick in your Avatar?...You can't share that Cool without expecting us not to notice...If it is please do share it looks pretty Spiffy...:)

That thing's rad. My 92 yr old neighbor has a banger up in the rafters of his garage...I think I might need it soon.

Your speedster is pretty cool.I like bangers to me there the simplest form of hot rodding there is.Not to say making them go fast is simple or cheap.Probably spent more money on my banger to go so slow.Mines apart for rebuild over the winter.Be watching your project as it progresses banger.jpg
