I see what your doing...this will allow a full hood without a Blister...The Belt will be in a interesting profile when tightened up...I'm curious about slippage. Does a generator have resistance when under running load?

    Happy New Year Pecker Head...:D

Didn't have a camera that day in 1966 that I slung the segments out of armature on a generator on my SBC powered '53 Studebaker coupe, but that was the last day I ran a generator on ANYTHING.

  15. Thanks. I will grab some pics tonight. The bracket is a “Jitney Jake Jacobs” piece that I don’t think is available any longer? I do have some measurements I can send if it looks like something that will work for you.

Here is a bracket that mounts like cactus1's setup. It consists of a www.welderseries.com alternator mount kit #WS2392 for the hard to make pieces and a fabbed rear support. IMG_1420.JPG

I know it’s an alternator but it mounts like a generator and plays one on TV. I built the mount off where the fuel pump mounting location and used the Flathead bracket on the alternator. Welded pieces of key stock to create a channel for the Flathead bracket. I only have a few hundred miles on it but it seems ok so far.

Checking generator output on the T with the correct meter. 8 volts, fast idle not long after start up. I guess it's working.

Just put new brushes in this Delco generator. It does the job. 215AE720-8305-41EF-898D-9B046ECD168D.jpeg 85FC5981-83C8-4069-9D6B-1B8BE03B5B5E.jpeg E00B72CA-BCBD-41E0-B2E4-9BB43837412C.jpeg
