Ha. I am a little farther along than I thought I would be. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Here’s a pic of the 36 cabriolet to tide you over. I’ll take pics of the 36 coupe and the phaeton tomorrow. I don’t have a pic of the Tudor on my phone and I’ve got it stored in a different warehouse.
As promised. Hood’s off the Phaeton while I’ve been doing some work. The Phaeton is going to be looking for a new home soon if anyone is interested!
My daughters aren’t the biggest fans when it come to working on old cars, but I enlist their help when I can. Today I was able to talk my 15 year old into starting to sandblast the wheels!
Cool Coupe build and a great story. looking forward to see the progress here. it also is great to see the kids back working on cars. This is a great education and time well spent together. AK
Awesome story, and unreal collection of rod material. You've got enough projects to keep you busy for the foreseeable future
Oh man that '36 Coupe is awesome! That's the one I'd be getting up and going. I love Model As, but they're a dime a dozen compared to the price of '36 coupes. Regardless, all the best on resurrecting the Model A!
Great thread and collection of cars. Is it ok if I save the picture of the Phaeton for personal use only? Looks like it might have the same colors as my ´28 Phaeton had when it was new.
Honestly, the '36 was the car that I always planned on working on first, but I wanted something fairly simple to work on that I could try to get my daughters to help out with. I also hope to use the '30 to teach my oldest (with her newly acquired learner's permit) how to drive a stick.
Those wheels should work fine. I would suggest pulling the tires and spinning to rims to check for out of round and run out. They look solid but if there is a problem, you will have time to find some more wheels. If you are going to keep the 4 cylinder I like the 1932-34 4 cylinder hub caps. Charlie Stephens
Haven't posted anything in a while, but here a a few progress pics. I've got too many projects pulling me in too many different directions. Here's some more work out of my oldest, sandblasting the frame. After we pulled the body, I was surprised to see that the car had the original engine, as the frame stamped serial number matched the engine's. Had to repair a small crack in the frame Frame after POR-15
Someone did a nice job tarring and screwing a piece of galvanized to the roof. Lots and lots of screws...
