I'm running disc in front and stock drum in rear. I've been told that I need a proportioning valve. Looking on line all that I see are built for dual reservoir MCs. I'm keeping the stock single reservoir MC. Do they make one for this application or do I need to T the line from the MC to both inlets in the P valve?

I was waiting for someone else to chime in because my experience is a fraction of others here but I'm not so sure that is going to work. Again, I'm no expert but I'm not sure the single unit is going to be able to push enough fluid. Maybe that's why you can't find a valve.

Anyway, a bump for the more enlightened.

Just read your entire thread. Your wagon is really turning out nice.

Do you know the name of the dealership where it was sold? I have a 56 Chevy BelAir that also was sold new in Anchorage. Somehow mine ended up in a Pekin Illinois junkyard. This was in the late 1970's. These attached photos were taken in the winter of 1980, after a high school buddy bought it.

Finished blasting, priming and painting the rims. Now have to let the paint harden for awhile before mounting the tires.

Just returned from the powder coating place. His first time using this powder so it has a bit of orange peel in it but it turned out way better than I expected.

That's a lot of powder coating for the price also.
Everything is looking great on this build!

Thanks. I try to make it a good build. I started out doing both front and rear bumper but the more I thought about it the grill and headlight bezels might not match so did them all.

Finished the front end chrome and trim last night. Bumper and grill sit about 1/2" to the driver's side. Adjusted it to the passenger side as far as it will go.

Bit more progress. I've been messing with getting the brake lines run, new MC and bleeding them. Front caliper banjo bolts would not seal. Went through 3 sets of copper crush washers before I bought new bolts which finally did the trick. Installed the two rear door panels.

So very nice. The wheels and tires took it up another level, and the illuminated hood ornament is the best. I remember one time my dad and I were looking at old Pontiac and he pointed to the hood ornament. He said "you know what that Indian is looking for?" I said "No," and he said "A gas station. Those old Pontiacs were pretty thirsty." Of course, it was a straight 8, but I always remember that when I see one of hood ornaments.

Got the wiring bugs out, tightened all the fuel line connections and bam she started right up.

  27. I sure like that, Casper... you have done a SUPER job!!
I've got a soft spot for '55/'56 Pontiac wagons: my high school car was a hand-me-down '56 that my folks had (I had to buy it from them, long and funny story for another time/place). It wasn't the high school guys most desired car (although it did have some redeeming qualities, if you know what I mean),
but it was a damned good car that hauled car parts, deer carcasses, you name it., and it was bullet proof. I moved up to a '63 LeMans in college, but I'd sure like to have that '56 today ! (well, the ,63 as well, but especially the '56 wagon)
