Hot Rods spindle mount wheels

    how do you balance them? i suppose i can take them to a bike shop. any other ways to do it?
     
  2. I run them and have never balanced them. there is not much there to balance. never had a problem.

  3. Any shop with cup and cones should be able to balance it in a regular balancer.

    Iknow the newer snap was n machines and corgi ?? It’s a high end European tire machine have small diameter shaft and fit more wheels.

    what about a bubble balancer ?

    bearing is too small to fit over my bubble balancer. that's why i'm thinking bike shop.

    planning on towel city's narrow front runners on a pair of hallcraft wire spindle mount wheels.

    I did not balance mine and have no shake at 133 mph.

    yeah but you don't go very far, just a 1/4 mile at a time. :)

    think i'll start out with the static method. should the spindle be level? i think it would have to be, wouldn't it?

    I have the beads in a car dolly I tow behind a motorhome. They seem to work well.

    Had 'em on a tbucket years ago. Put a shitload of miles on them. Never needed to balance.

    You might try running them first. May not need balancing. My fronts are not balanced and do fine.

    Back in the 60's there was a balancer that spun up the wheels on the car. They incorporated some sort of a strobe light system to indicate where to put the weights and how much weight You might be able to find one in an old shop that has been around since the 60's or 70's. Good luck

  20. 20191006_173327.jpg I race and street drive mine. I have done drag week for several years. I have never balanced them and they go almost 200 mph. You might be trying to solve a problem that's not there.

  21. That's because your fronts rarely touch the ground except for right at the start!
