I remember flying to California in April 1956 as a 15 year old kid. When we landed in Chicago as a stop-over we went over the highway. Wow, that was an experience.
The 1933 Ford police car is a standard, one horn, but it has cowl lights normally found on deluxe models.
Great memories of meals for special occasions with my Parents in the 50's & 60'sat the Yankee Pedlar, thanks for all the wonderful pictures of western Mass. Hemidav.

When I was a kid none of the Big Three dealers could also sell another Big Three brand. A Chevy dealer couldn’t also sell Fords, for example. But they could sell one of the Independents. In Cairo, IL the Mercury dealer also sold Ramblers. The Ford dealer was stand alone. When the Mercury dealership sold to new owners they dropped Mercury and started selling Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth, but continued selling Rambler/AMC.
I have fond memories of the Farmers Market in the fifties. Lots of activities 24 hours a day. You could see movie stars shopping for fresh produce and meat or having a meal from the open air food booths. I can remember Steve Allen frequently taking his show on-air down to Farmers Market to "harass" the shoppers. Spontaneous and zany antics of Louis Nye and friends. Today the Farmers Market is just as interesting and tasty. If there, look for the small recreation of Gilmore service station. Not too far from the AMAZING Petersen Museum. Take them both in for a great 1/2 day. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
