Thanks for the nice comment a-boner.
This is my AA shined up and wearing her highway radials, coming home from the Fuel Cleveland chopper show last summer. The Eastwood TT was an inspiration in the build. The passenger cross spring in back kinda limits the weight hauling capacity, but it does regular duty when there's no salt on the roads. Carburated 4.3 chevy, sm 465 trans, 9inch rear. 40 ford brakes, 65 Chevelle steering.

Flatbed Hot Rod Trucks are cool!
I like it with the highway radials, but many on here would prefer the wires. The passenger rear spring seems like a good idea....smoother ride and still ok to haul a Christmas tree, a Harley, or hot rod parts! Like how the 4.3 fits, and still enough to make it a good cruiser. Do you have any build pic’s you could share on here? Really like the flatbed.....did you build it from scratch, or is it a factory piece? The Eastwood TT is inspirational, and so is you AA.....sure glad you posted your pic’s.

  12. Does this thing count? It was just a down and dirty work horse. Looking at my daughter and the boat must have been 1974 or 75. Better photos didn't survive the Divorce. The Truck was also a casualty of the Divorce. Wonder where it ended up.

No build pics, i didn't have a smart phone then.
The bed is scratch built from white oak, but i got some ideas for it from a friend's old TT. I need to finish the perimeter angle around the deck and get some side rails made up for it.
I want to declare the chassis "complete in all its parts" so i can clean it up and paint it, BUT, i have a 48 banjo rear, that if i had the cash to upgrade it, it think it would look perfect tucked in back there... I have a friend that works on old, old houses.....he clued me in on the outside durability of white oak, not red oak, though.....perfect for serious outdoor use. Scratch built, but looking “factory” is a compliment to your skills on the flatbed. The 9” doesn’t bother me at all.....like their durability, especially in this application, over the 48 banjo. Thanks for all the detail pics.

Don't know. You would have to ask the farmer who back in the day did the install. My guess is that the Ford bed got wrecked somehow and they had the Studebaker bed in the bone yard and they made it fit because that is what they did back in the day. Whoever did the swap did a dang good job. To the average Joe it looks factory until you see the inside of the tailgate.

I fully understand that line of thinking being that's the era I'm from.
