Ah yes the great sin of the 80’s and 90’s! How many dashes were ruined. When tempted by this back in the 90’s I chose in the glove box! Lol

Should be able to eliminate some of this.

  5. Wiring is my least favorite part of playing with these old cars! At least simplifying and eliminating some of it makes it easier.

I'm looking for a steering wheel. I wanted to keep the factory wheel but with the racing seat and not getting any smaller it's a bit of a pain with the larger factory wheel.

Unfortunately, not sure what yet. Repaint the interior black? I don't think I will. I am thinking either white or metalflake silver. I plane on doing the roof silver at some point.

The larger one Grant 500? Looks cool and would be spot on.

Gauges are a perfect fit in the factory holes. Temp-volt-oil. Three holes in the dash.

Nothing huge done.....waiting for my gauges so we can finish the wiring. We made a gas gauge which I will post later. Found a steering wheel I'm going to use. Brackets for front brake lines and brake lines almost done........but I did find these cool Sunoco decals.

I had a small volt meter. Since we are going to replace the factory gauges with larger oil, temp, volt gauges in the factory holes I'm out a fuel gauge. We removed the factory gauges and put it in an old gauge.

So we gutted the factory gauges and installed the new gauge in the housing. At some point I may take them apart and put the Pontiac head on the face of the gauges.

The third hole just has the blank in place of a clock but I think we have that figured out.

    Fits like it belongs there.

Will put the fuel gauge in the dash between the tach and water gauge. Wheel was free so I'm going to use it at least for now.

The grill is in. When I bought this car it was wrecked in the front and the first front I found was a 55 which I used. The 56 had a whole lot of chrome..........so I left it. I think I will paint this silver and it will kind of mimic the 56 somewhat. Not sure about leaving the lower front fender parts yet or not.

Looking good! Hmmm I’m not sure about the lower front sheet metal. On tri5 Chevy I always lean towards yes but on the Pontiac is have to see both ways. Either way I’m excited to see this thing go together!

So while my buddy is trying to finish up the Ford (that you can see in the one pic) I decided to trim the front fenders.
