  4. Knowing which 53/54 car would help, I am unaware if we have any telepathist here. HRP

How long is a piece of string?

We need to know what brand of "sedan" you have, and also, what "information" are you looking for. An exploded view, a place to buy one, how to adjust it, or?

His profile shows 53 Chevy 210 sedan. We still don't know what information is needed.

  7. If he would offer that information it would help, asking a question is not that hard but having to do detective work just slows down the answers. HRP

I will assume that the OP wants a "sure" way of ensuring his hood doesn't fly up at speed. Studebakers (of the variety in my avatar) evidently have a "reputation" of coming unlatched and those hoods aren't easily replaced. The trick is a tailgate "cable/strap" off of a 80"s or so Ford pickup. You affix one end to the hood and replace (on a Studebaker) one of the four latch bolts with a thread rod connector that you drill a hold for a snap pin, you ease the hood down, slide the cable end over the connector and insert the snap pin. If you need pictures send me a PM or I'll take a picture and add it here. EDIT check this link out https://studebaker-info.org/Tech/Body/sdc33611.html
