I’d pay that for one. In fact I payed more than that plus shipping for one back in March for my 365

  3. 59 makes it a 390,if it’s a 59, I would be all over that like flies on a turd if it was down here.
The later ones have a better oiling system but still a good buy.

There seems to be alot of cool, vintage motors being pulled for sbc or ls swaps. I'd take that 390 in a heartbeat. The 365 in my 56 Cad purred like a kitten..beautiful hot rod motors too. Hipo aftermarket parts are expensive though..

Nice, clean motor if the p/o power washed it make no water got in to it. If it turns over by hand you have a good core motor for your next hot rod.

Easily adapted ( with some cash) to the V8 Ford 3 speeds. Requires a manual flywheel and bell adapter.....
All of that stuff is available.

What you need to look for is a cheap easy way to get it to Motown...;)

Lol . You can always expect a push in the right direction on here for a cool vintage part.

I wonder if your better half should frequently check you for magnets in your back pocket. Seems you are always attracting stray parts and projects . :p

I wish one of those would find me, especially at that price! Good score.

  22. How about an Edmund 2x2 to put on top of it?

A stock 59 would have a cannister. You can use a twist on with yours, unless you have other plans eventually.

  26. hell,I fell in love with a flathead the first time I heard one running with open headers from a guy that was coming up from Viva...
I had good luck with other engines being cheap but not flatheads tho.
    $400 -302gmc
    $200-270gmc with h head
    $100-283 long block
    $free- 292 y block not stuck
    $200- 223 inline with 20000 miles
$300- 292 Chevy with low miles...
$200- 21 stud fladhead all rusted with 2 stuck cylinders...

I still want a flat head

Yes Yes Yes! I had a 1959 Caddy 390 in a 1930 Model A roadster, this motor produce over 400+hp, and almost 450ftlbs of torque! It was a Monster and I loved it! This was it in my pic below. Man, I miss that rocket! P82A0312.jpeg

  28. 250 is basically a core price and picking up a vintage mill that may be a runner for core prices is good. You could try and start it and if its runs you are golden or you can pop the heads off and the pan for inspection and sell it to a real mechanic who would use it.

  29. I actually got it for 200.
And who knows? I might yank the sbc out of the coe and run a caddy down the road..
