I lean toward the Fords usually but in this case I think you made the best choice. The Chevy looks great!

  11. Nice start. A weekend and a welder, the V8/auto, rearend swap should be done. Always nice working with clean metal. Furniture blankets make great fender covers.

Depending on what you plan on spending. Walmart has covers that won't fit worth a hoot but will cover it up for under 50 bucks. Or California Car Cover company will custom make you one that will fit that car and even have the bumper fru fru figured in for an exact fit. https://www.calcarcover.com/

Love it, the 235 and stick really makes it cool, these cars really lose their personality when a v8 and automatic (ho hum) are swapped in. also love the cal custom bull nose molding, is it a 49? if it is where is the license guard?

Just keeps getting better, Love the extra bumper treatment and the great looking heater. Those split exhaust systems sound so good too.

@Moriarity Thanks. The license plate guard is the only trim missing. Ill be on the lookout for one and it is a 49.

Hi. WOW, way beyond awesome. Back in the mid 50's I had a 49 Chevy coupe while in high school and it was nice but not like yours. Love those Fenton headers but they just would not clear the intake on the 235 in my 46 coupe.
I usually have a map handy by the computer but it seems to have hid itself. Where is Sudan Tx? I am hid out in the county near Yoakum. Jimmie

Sudan is northwest of Lubbock. I was in that area for a project a couple weeks ago.

Hi. For the front plate guard www.chevsofthe40s.com has an aftermarket Britzguard 49 style in their catalog. You can check that out.
Lubbock is getting up there from Yoakum. I did go to an antique car tour in Abilene 3 years ago. It was the Texas Tour hosted on a rotating basis by various AACA clubs in Texas. The Virus got this years tour in Brenham cancelled. Plans are for it to be rescheduled there next year and the following year by a newer club down in the Valley.
