Just wondering if you can surface a Weber aluminum flywheel or is it junk if the steel insert is worn a little. Also is there a certain procedure for doing it? Thanks in advance...

I'm curious about this als, so I'll give it a bump. How is that steel insert fastened to the aluminum wheel?

    Sure can!

As long as you don't take off so much that you get deep into the fasteners, you are good.

Unless you broke something, and it strafed the surface, leaving deep gouges, taking 0.010" - 0.030" off won't harm it, unless this has already repeatedly been done.

Just skim it enough to remove grooves, and go have some fun!
