Good to know-thanks. There was a lot of debate on this a few months back.

My son and I went to the recent Hot Rod Showdown here in South Texas. Really cool event and so many cool period hot rods. Hope to have the Riff Raff Roadster at the show next year.

That show just seems unreal. Little jealous you got to go!

Got the 1933 Pierce-Arrow dash insert chromed and looks awesome. However, the original machine turned backer now looks kind of grubby, as expected. Debating whether to let big deuce turn me a replacement, or leave it and learn to appreciate the wear and tear. Original condition is shown also. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  12. Dash looks great! I’d leave it if it was mine?

Normally, I would agree with Cactus, but I believe this beauty deserves all the fine details you can give her. Save the original just in case! The devil is in the details and your contribution to this build will be the difference between really nice and Wow. Keep strokin', Carp.

You could make a picture frame out of the original panel, with pics of your father and the car in the gauge holes. Nice wall hanger in your office...

I actually have an old SW patina panel that someone cut an over sized hole and ruined it, was going to do that to make use of the insert. An old 5w windshield frame to do the same with someday.

I got side tracked. My brother found and bought the long lost model a pickup my dad built back in 1973. It is amazing how it survived with very little changes. So far I have installed flotech heads, performer intake, petronix, zips riser kit and fan shroud, new rod and main bearings, rebuilt front end.....

I'm still working bugs out but it runs so much better now! The heads had 1.72 valves in one and 1.94 in the other and the exhaust valves were sunk.

I should have started a new thread dedicated to the pickup. I just posted it to show what I was up to.

You likely see it is a 29 sedan cut down. Dad bought it that way. 3.5 inch chop, model t box, coupe rear fenders. Sharp but not very comfortable......

Good idea, start your own build thread instead of hijacking someone else's thread!

Plenty of space for us all!
Sorry for the delay-we’ve had some setbacks (our body and paint guy flaked out on us after holding the car for 4 months). He did the doors and trunk lid, but then went awol. Found a new guy this weekend and he will take around 6 weeks. More to come soon (I hope).[IMG][IMG]
