Like it! Everything looks awesome.

 

'61 0ne year only body style, the long roof gives it a sleek look. The Hamb has opend my mind and eyes to colors on cars I never would have considered. There's a '55 custom owned by a member here. Purple, not dark or light. Amazing look.

 

I really want to do this with my '61 Parkwwod 4 door wagon. Just need to find a pair of '61 or '62 2 door sedan doors and do a bunch of work.

Actually, '61 and '62 full size Chevies are the same body with different front and rear treatments. Doors, glass, even front sheet metal can be interchanged between the two years.

 

Thanks, @Mike - Even more reason to pursue one. They are attractive cars. Super modern in thier day, lower rooflines than just a few years before. Tailfins vanished and horsepower was on the way up!

At a guess (Im no bodyman and my guess is based on my observations of the work being done on my car), I would think that you could knock off 40-50 hours of the time if you started with a good body. There was quite a bit of "remediation work" that needed to be done because the body was so daggy to start with.
