Has anyone installed lap seat belts in a closed cab 29 Ford pickup. Looking for info as best way to mount the belts. Thanks Chuck29

I put three-point belts in my '40 - '47 truck. I highly recommend 3-point, as a lap point only will still permit an impact with the steering column, which can easily prove fatal. If I had to guess I'd say you probably do not have a modern collapsible steering column in there. For my setup I scrounged a retractable belt from the rear seat of a Ford Escort from the boneyard. I beefed up the shoulder mounting location with square tubing. 3PT belts01.jpg 3PT belts02.jpg

Whichever way you go, I'd recommend you buy the customer bolt backer plates many companies sell, or fab your own. Make sure there is something more substantial than washers to hold the belt.
