My wife spotted this frame yesterday when we were out walking in the park behind our house. we went back today to get a picture. It's about 5 feet below ground level. 014.JPG 016.JPG

  9. Is that a Starliner roof in the second pic? That would make a great donor for a "Bulletbird" conversion!!!

    '59 Chevy 2-door sedan.
So weird to see these cars with little surface rust, almost buffable paint and even the glass intact on the '57 Olds. Where is this?

  13. Guess this one's been sitting since 1977 when I bought it at Fry's place. Didn't have a way to pull it home at that time so he took it down to the old yard we have been mentioning on here. Gave me the title years later and than one day - we got it down from the top of the two cars and I brought it home. Found a really ruff 1953 Studie truck with a dump bed - so he it is at my first shop with the old body on the newer frame....and that's about how she sits today. 1946 M series - was a 1 ton with a 9 ft bed - but the bed was not on it when I bought it. Only mass-produced truck (or car?) I'm aware of that used interchangeable fenders, front and rear.

Looks like either a 57 Oldsmobile or a Buick.

Yep, definitely Olds. 4 Dr hdtp. It'd be fun to drag it out of there and see it's overall condition

You are correct, its a '59 2 door sedan. The 2nd and 3rd pics are the same car. They are in an old salvage yard by me. It looks like years ago they just shoved them down in the ravine rather than crushing them, maybe easier or cheaper way of getting rid of them, I don't know. They have to have been there a while because of the trees that have grown up around them.

A few goodies from an auction up in Lucerne Valley CA; prices for the most part were high enough that there hopefully will be a lot of rescues rather than scrappings:

Lots, lots more, including a '63 Galaxie factory 427/stick with non-original engine that still sold for over $40k (but you'll have to scroll through a lot of un-HAMBable newer stuff):
