Given reputation of rabbits, that one in a car on dealership lot might have been suggestion of what was going to happen to you when buying from them.
Mickey Thompson sears all state special. 1964 indy 500 wreck. The wreck was large enough to red flag the whole field for the first time. The rules changed for the 1964 season, and they had to change tire size. The 12"width tires were out, 15" min. wider tires= taller tires in those days. chances are you were grabbing whatever was made. The wheel fairings had to be hacked off to allow clearance (2d pic pre hack, on 12" widths). The large tires lifted the cg , handled like crap.the front end floated at speed. all three wrecked in practice(pic 4 shows #83 after practice wreck). Drivers quit, would not handle. Was carrying 80 gal of fuel. (Dave MacDonald, worried, wanted to pit, and was worried about being a "rolling inferno" should he wreck. Thompson overruled). Wiped in turn 4, on second lap, went into infield, hit wall exploded(pic 3. before the wall, his son posted it a while back), then back on track and was t boned by Eddie Sachs, who also exploded. This is why there are more pit stops now. (the old timey, run to the car and go, way of starting le mans for example was axed because drivers would just jump in and say screw the harness.)parnelli jones had to ditch his car in the pit. caught fire on lap 55. crazy race. 5th pic is the odd side pod car in the race.
I think the pass side windshield & door are there- windshield frame def is. Bet the cab got crunched just enough so the door wouldn't latch, and he took it off.
