Projects nastiest model A part ever dragged home

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by sloppy jalopies, Apr 25, 2020.

  1. Remember, that's REAL steel and no a plastic fake. Hahahahaha. I bet the rust is real too. I couldn't resist. I'm sure someone better than me can fix it. To that, I tip my hat!

I met up with a guy from NY. at the last exit in Mass.
we unloaded the remains of a stock car '34 tudor body onto the tar...
they had cut the sides out from the B pillar down at an angle to the top of the wheelwell, said it was to race as a coupe ?
then loaded the pile of a '34 3 window's remains into my truck and the tudor went into his truck...
the toll booth agent walked over and said...
"I can see one of you using these parts... but to travel that far to trade junk... wow "!

Didn't bring this home. I'm sure someone can find a few decent pieces. kssed3.jpg

That's right mr. K... he found me when his dad [avid pilot] flew over my yard, saw some tin, told the boy and we have been friends for 30 some odd years...
we saved a bunch of the death row model A bodies...
bought the back half of 7 A bodies in north buckfield, down in the riverbed, the guy [Adams I think] made cut down tractors from early bodies… not a cowl on the property... paid $35 apiece …
    THOSE were the days...
never failed, I would leave a body in my truck for a week after I got it … someone would tell me of one JUST like it... 25% were...

I've seen worse advertised on Craigslist, described as ," Restorable , no low baller's, I know what I have !"

The before shots were pretty sporty! Someone has access to a shiny new sheet metal brake.;)

Hell ya I’d build that! Of course I have a bad itch to build something right now.

I was actually referring to the before shot with the big flat sheet with the nice folds in it. Communication is not always my strength.o_O

A few decent priced rough ones I’ve dragged home the last 2 years....nothing I wanted to mess with building but I did sell every bit of it for a profit to fund other projects.... 8CF75C6C-9EE4-4448-A971-B6A5E46D6A72.jpeg 0B4B76E6-18AA-49E9-8C64-B343C8B76AC0.jpeg AFC0DA91-F111-427F-B176-A60E8FB1C8B0.jpeg B215B5F6-71F9-4142-9361-08F959F3B3C6.jpeg 66042747-D413-417A-ACAD-92CAA8F0FD61.jpeg F6E4CFF3-00CC-4BEC-B2AB-62D906158A2B.jpeg 2F359BAC-86C3-46A8-9DFE-7747671F7968.jpeg B415BBA4-8D90-4EDF-818F-56BA38B8B056.jpeg

I'm thinking $1500 if you mat and frame it.

This would have been a great barn find had it made it into the barn.

  30. My present hot rod 34 five window body went over to the body shop in 4 pieces. It fit into a chevy shortbox pickup with the tailgate up!
