Joe...on top of your continual knowledge shared, thanks for posting that vintage literature...I certainly know Cool stuff when I see it but many times the story is unknown to me as I'm not much of a reader/historic magazine owner...but I do appreciate hearing and seeing facts...and did read that...still a pile of facts and hands that @hotrodfil also threw into the mix that the Hotrod passed through and of course 2 Frank's involved to boot...:D

Frank Pommer...Fabbed machined transmission case, heads, differential mods, on and on...jeeze throw Kurtis in the mix, incredible really.

It showcases the Finesse of the Hobby that varies greatly without loss in Historical greatness...as cruder simpler Excellence also playing out side by side and is equally interesting...

And only 1 Pic...couldn't find one more...I am surprised as it has an earned Nastiness...wouldn't doubt it has a connection here, perhaps an old thread with redx's...

Here's a real interesting mix below of the Unusual and Hotrod innovation...and a Pretty awesome looker Family Sedan shared by Hamber @rbantique

...There was a Late Hamber @Back to Thunder Alley ( Greg "Nairn" Thomas ) that was Penning an Incredible Thread at the link above and a Book Showcasing His Families Connection to One of the Major spokes if not part of the Hub of the Hotrod/Race/Custom movement with both His Father Don Nairn and Uncle Jim Nairn both active influential participants in. They grew into the Sport/Hobby alongside the likes of Ed Iskenderian, Stu Hilborn, John Athans, Jack Engel, Phil Remington, Dick Teague and many others in their very fulfilling careers revolving around Motorsport.

I have come to realize quite a number of recent images I have shared recently unbeknownst too me originated from His Fathers Collection he graciously shared within The Thread. I will share the link after my sincere thoughts on Thunders incredible gift to The Hamb.

It should be required reading if one at all Cares about what Traditional Hotrodding really was and still is...Varied with Greatness at every end of the Spectrum. It actually ranks right Up There with Threads by @Rockerhead, @woodiemike and numerous others with Historical Connections and Contributions to those Grand Days and their influence in the Evolution...

RIP Hamber Back to Thunder Alley and Your Late Father, Uncle and Additionally thanks or thoughts to so many Others included in this Story of Hotrod Greatness who may have also departed or are still Here...

Additional Thanks to Back to Thunder Alleys Son Jason Thomas who Chimed in to Confirm and Let us Know that His Father had left us...

There is very little in Hotrodem that can't be pulled off by one of the many models of '36 Ford.

  16. What's the deal with the body-frame? Where would the floor be?

  17. It has a roll pan. Judging from the pic, I'd say that the floor is on top of the frame.

The Story of Racing 019_Fisk_Thunder Alley.jpg

From the Late Hamber 'Back to Thunder Alley's Fathers collection...War took them from the Joy they were having but those that returned carried the Hotrod torch onward...I am forever thankful for what they gave...and the Hotrods were like an Art Form that made Nice Noise, Looked Cool and Went Fast...Felt Good

There almost looks to be a Duvall/Hallock Windshield but its an Illusion making me think maybe thats how it came about...just a thought...
