Man, who ever was checking the boxes on this order form knew what the heck was going on ! Wife probably yelling to get rid of the hot rod and get a "family" car...yes dear...with an evil grin..ha ha ha
I've heard the tale's about them, but this is closest I've been to one in real life! I hope you bought it!
Amazing Hey guys. Try this while you're stuck at home wondering what else to eat. Super easy, super good. Hot cook-style chocolate pudding poured over vanilla ice cream. You're welcome. LOL
My dad had the same model but with a considerably smaller 283 V8 but it was a nice car, I totaled it early one Friday morning loaded down with all our band equipment when a propane truck amd I collided. My dad was not happy and neither was my girl friend, she ate part of the steel dash and knocked a couple of teeth out, I got beaned in the back of the head when the Fender Amp head came over the seat. the truck driver was charged and he didn't get a scratch. My dad was a wagon guy and the next one had a 454. HRP
I'm not sure what's going on with it, I seen it listed on an abandoned car site and the guy posting didn't seem to be the owner either. I wonder how it would've paired up in a stock drag class or maybe modified production class.
cool find! That is the 2nd one I've seen via the internet. This is an old thread from chevytalk that I followed back in the day. Unfortunately, many of the pictures are lost to photosucket... https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/178113/tp/1/ Gotta56forme/Scott
A four speed, dual quad, positraction 409! I'll bet that engine is stuck harder than Chinese algebra. 1962= 409 cu in, 409 H.P. I noticed no flags/409 emblems on the front fenders to complete the sleeper image. Appears to still have the deeper wagon wheels...
BUMMER this has been removed and restored. It's all in the link @gotta56forme posted. Very few photos left and hell of a shitstorm over if it is real or not.LOL
Damn, that puts a smile on your face! Awesome find, make sure you get it home. I love wagons with 3 pedals!
I wonder how many wagons were built like that? It’s not even an Impala. I could see a few with the low horsepower (340?), and Powerglide, but a dual quad 409 must have been far and few between. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Everybody have a great Sunday! Hey guys. Try this while you're stuck at home wondering what else to eat. Super easy, super good. Hot cook-style chocolate pudding poured over vanilla ice cream. You're welcome. LOL
Might have done some racing at one time. I see what may be a Sun tach on the left side of the steering column and the sending unit mounted on the inner fender.
Many years ago I was at the home of Bud Pinto, a Connecticut drag racer and a great Chevrolet mechanic. He showed me his 1963-64 Pontiac station wagon, 421 ,dual quad 4 speed. It was his tow car for his Chevy powered dragster, "the blue canoe". Bud told me the wagon was as ordered from the factory, and if you knew Bud, he was telling the truth.
My mother was serving this to us kids since I can remember, and I was born in '57. So I was there... back in the day. LOL Hey guys. Try this while you're stuck at home wondering what else to eat. Super easy, super good. Hot cook-style chocolate pudding poured over vanilla ice cream. You're welcome. LOL
