Luke, if you don't dig this presentation of your kool painting I'll delete it.
To me, yours is a representation of what the Friday Art Show should be.

A4B93516-0572-4E53-892A-03C2010D0881.jpeg So, I’ve had these old newspapers from 1917-18 for a few years. Real interesting to look at from time to time but the old paper dust makes me sneeze. Then back in the box they go. Too cool to throw away. I decided to try making a collage from some of the more interesting ads. The base is a pre-stretched canvas panel and the ads are decoupaged to it with a product called Mod-Podge. I like the way they are turning out and no more paper dust. The next step is to paint one of my car scenes on the canvas using the ads for the background.

Not too long ago, the wife and I ditched our high priced direct TV account and now have You tube TV, Amazon Prime and Netflix. With the amazon prime account, there is a ton of interesting stuff that you get for free, and its got a ton of categories of a lot of interesting material. This morning I ran across this great documentary about Robert Williams.

Now I am sure a lot of you fellow Hot Rod artist's have probably seen this film, it was made in 2010 and released in 2013. But to those that haven't seen it, I highly recommend it to all that love art, cars, hot rods, weirdos, fringe art, and anything of an artistic nature that pushes the boundaries of all categories.

This documentary is candy for the eyes, for those that have never had a hallucinogenic experience, this is as good as it gets with out having to be paranoid of what your brain is seeing, ( grin, that was never a problem for me ), I have watched it twice this morning, simply amazing the quality of Robert William's artistic talent!

Check it out and as usual, the material submitted to the weekly Friday Art Show ( FAS )is a joy to be able to participate in!

Not exactly. Those, as is this, are private platforms.

Your Constitutionally enumerated right to free speech only applies to what the government, or anyone duely acting on its behalf, can, or more importantly cannot do to a citizen, regarding speech.

Thank you so much @Jigger. I'm both honored and flattered.
I was greatly influenced by Dave Bell, and although we were contemporaries at Street Rodder Mag, he was quite a bit older than me (I was just a kid). I always admired the "cleanness" of his drawings.

Robert William's was also a big influence, both his Ed Roth era cars and later his "Underground Comix"...which also led me to the styling of R. Crumb.

No problem. I usually just post a photo of the art. Never worry about the background. I'll try to crop things in the future. Thank you.

You don’t need to crop or frame your work to post it in the art show in my humble opinion.
I enjoy seeing it on an easel or where ever you choose to share the art, to me the way you originally posted it shows the grit and the messy process behind the curtain. Keep posting any way you want, just keep posting.
