The Rice coupe is restored and in a body shop in Washington State, saw it on a tour when returning home from deuce days in Victoria in 2019

If I had dumb money I would buy that shortened and sectioned 55 chevy in the other thread so I could drive it around all the time and piss off all the purist just so they had something different to complain about .

Well the 18 years old version of me would have answered with at least 20 impractical and crazy options. The current 58 years old version would say the car I already have, but it would get finished within the next year, virus or no virus, like I want it and with no compromises. And I won't need ALL the dumb money for that (the rest will go towards retirement).

  5. Yep, that is what I said too. My other choice would likely be a 56-62 Vette with a similar stance.

I'd have to start with a vintage looking cinder block building to keep everything. In it we'd find some unique stuff, some things I don't mention because they're original ideas, but within the hoard would be a front engine dragster with a full body including the cage area. There's sure to be a Packard or 3, a 61 Cadillac Coupe DeVille (customized of course), something nasty with a full zoot BBC (that Cheetah shown earlier would do), a couple select early V8 rods though not sure what they'd be. I mean, if you're gonna spend why stop at 1?

    I dreamed of marketing a track-nosed Model Y roadster (3/4 scale '34) with a Mercruiser 181 4 cyl. as an alternative to T buckets.

  8. I'd buy one of these:

It seems foolish, but I purchased three whole cars for what this crate engine costs.

I'd buy one of these for each project I own just to get the tires rolling again.

Turn key crate motor. Sounds pornographic...

A 289 FIA Shelby Cobra or a Shelby Daytona Coupe or Dick Hutcherson's GT40 that finished 3rd at the 1966 LeMans race. You have probably noticed a common theme with my choices! CSX2345-FIA-Cobra-Roadster-1097.jpg

I have a really awesome but complicated build in my head. It is unique and new, never been done. I can't divulge the specifics, so no one can scoop me, but it is a combination of traditional hot rod and full classic. Cadillac ohv V16 power, some classic European and American styling elements. I'm planning to build it when I retire. I already have aquired the V16.

I have always thought that these particular MOPARS would be worth having, love the lines, and you know it had a HEMI as well. Some would consider it ugly and gaudy, to me its unique, you don't see these running around everyday.

As an alternative, the 1955 Chrysler 300, to me is still a very cool stylish automobile that is timeless!

The '' COP SHOP ROADSTER'' has been in my brain for decades.

Dave Bell penned a version in a STREET RODDER MAGAZINE extended issue that is Bitchen' but I would stick with a topless version of Chuck Rogers coupe.

I posted earlier but have rethought my choice and decided at 75 riding around in style would fit in better so I’d buy a nice restored 57 Continental. Black on black if possible.

I remember a 62 Plymouth Savoy with a straight axle on ebay. I'd go with one of those, send it to Mosher's, and build a spare no expense hotrod out of it. Big blown hemi, 4 speed, Dana. Raw as fk.

Start with one of these and then build a car around it. Ford body of coarse.

Take the Doug Rice coupe as an inspiration, but use a '38 or '39 Zephyr coupe.

Or maybe an OT '70's Can-Am Racing AMC Javelin

I'd build a 1/4 or 1/3* mile black top oval race track, with a line of garages on far back of pits, most too rent-out. One 4 car garage would be my own for my hot rod ,two to build stuff an one for early 1960s open wheel mod with big FE an 8x2+{and yes the track would run Vintage Mods a long with now days class's. Somewere in south east Florida. This is Mel's mod,was Metallic blue an white and he made thunder. My hero !!
I'd also get me 63 Studebaker Supercharged Avanti too. Mel at Hollywood.jpg

For a custom I would want a 57 ford with a j-2 golden rocker olds and a ford 4 speed, white interior, dark dark green or blue, lowered, no front bumper,no skirts, skinny white white walls,59 ford grille, and 57 Chrysler hubcaps. For a hotrod I would want a 27 t sedan on model a rails, quick change, olds or flathead,4 speed, hard hard chop, mild channel, slight z, drop axle, and it would be a original model a grey with a red firewall and red grille bars on a 32 shell
