"I can't figure out what's going on with the roof on this one. Removable hardtop? "

Looks like a Roadster converted to Coupe class. Not a Coupster, but a Roadpe'.

It's weird looking at all the Crosleys with the wheels outside. I don't know if he was first, but Ron Benham sure shook them up when he had all of them enclosed in his long-nosed Comp. Coupe – the Ill Eagle.

No surprise that was Mr. Costella's. Early attempt to go under the air.

  10. That thing looks perfect! It looks like the proportions of a car Jack would build. I dig the tiny doors. Any idea on the motor? @RichFox

    Dragster Jack's 001-1.jpg
I suspect it's the chassis and SBC that they ran as a gas dragster. Previously Jack had run it with a 215 aluminum Olds and very light parts Pictured here. (Gokart steering, bicycle front wheels, 12 inch Midget wheels and slicks) and swore it weighed 500 pounds ready to run.

Betting there were a bunch of deaf drivers in this era. From all those engines protruding into the drivers compartment.

Interesting – seeing the hand pressure pump down beside the left side of the driver's seat.

I drove my roadster (my only car) with a dash-mounted one for a couple of years. Had a 10-gallon tank in the trunk which made it interesting to use. If you'd just filled up, just a few dabs were needed for the six 97s. If it was near empty, you had to give it a lot more. Not a problem for an early-20s kid.

I'd think driving a hand-pump system for 5 miles at Bonneville would be distracting. I only had time to look at the tach.

I believe that this is the same car. I had thought that it was a fuel sedan from the 50's before seeing the photos from 1963. I think it is a beautiful car and color. If anyone has any information on it I would like to know.

  19. Thanks for sharing that @KKrod! It has to be the same car. How many hot rodded Graham's can there be? It is great to see it in color.
