@GordonC good idea of making them removable. I only have one so that will have to do for now.

  5. I drove up from Roseburg, Oregon to the Anacortes, Washington Ferry Terminal and loaded up this 1955 Chevy Belair & 1957 Willys Jeep that made the ferry ride over from Orcas Island.

Both run & drive - I am transporting them to Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico.

I did the same last weekend. Tried to make her a nice birthday. Luckily I had bought her gifts before the stay at home stuff and with the nursery’s open I bought her a rose to plant this year.

Made a cam bearing remover/installer for my big block chevy. Cut the nose off the old cam and made a plate out of some scrap 1/4" plate I had that I drilled to fit the cam dowel and bolt holes. Mounted it on the cam nose and turned it down to just under the diameter of the bearing journal in the block. Then took a piece of 1" rod and made a short and long drive rod for it. Then made a centering piece out of some nylon to keep the rod centered in the journals. Worked like a charm driving out the old bearings, and I'm hoping it will work just as well driving in the new ones.

Just noticed the pie cut in your frame at the cowl for the first time. That may be the reason it is the best looking 28-29 Coupe out there IMO. Bob

I finished up the trans cover seat end and decided to polish it. That showed a few more blemishes that i had to remove. A little hammer and dolly work, along with some sanding before polishing. I'm happy with it over the old one. I will paint the flats on the sides when I paint the floor. I love the cutout for my shoe heel. DSCN3487.JPG

Replaced the power steering pump and fan clutch on my off topic Mercury. Time consuming but not difficult.

Got some saddle brackets cut out for the fire extinguisher overflow tank. Buffed everything up. I'll bend the brackets tomorrow and then solder them to the tank IMG_20200422_132153380_HDR.jpeg IMG_20200422_153223697.jpeg

I was a fucking idiot. Been cleaning up the shops and have buckets full of tools, decided I needed a toolbox to house everything.

Pulled up, texted the guy, he rolled them out of his Apt., anyone familiar with Downtown Stockton, Flora street?

    Kinda bad area

Had little kids looking out he door, fuck, what's an older guy to do?

Yeah, overpay...said fuck it, hit a slum convenience store picked up a tall can and rolled home.

I wound up buying (way over paying) for his tools on the ground, but was thinking getting to the end of the month...etc..

So know I have place to put some of the tools I need to get out of my buckets.

Days like this I wish I'd had no feelings. Effing age setting in.

Just found out the 2020 Pebble Beach Concourse has been canceled, bummer, it was a great week to visit with our oldest daughter, see great cars and have a good time. Wonder if Hershey is the next event to get the ax in 2020? Bob

Started on a bead roller stand and stiffener. Great plans for tomorrow.
Also mowed a bunch of grass pasture and burned two huge slash piles in the rain. Giddyup.

My gripe is what I didn't do today, hit the first day of Carlisle like I have done since 1984:mad: I was pissed for part of the day just thinking about it, then I thought what dumb ass I was to be mad over something I have no control over.
Me and mine have not caught the virus so far, I am retired so my income has not gone down the tubes. I stay home most of the time anyway so other than missing going to the Moose Lodge for a few beers with the guys, car shows and swap meets my life has not really changed that much, for which I am blessed. Sooooo, today I dug out and organised some hubcaps, greased up and bagged a bbc crank, looked for morels (no luck) and played with two of my youngest grandsons so I ended up having a pretty good day.

I over reacted to the loss of Pebble Beach, it is emotional loss, but money not spent there can be spent at Hershey.:):):):) Bob

Spent half a day polishing the mineral deposits out of golf cart windshields at the golf course.
Showed one of my cart boys how to do it . He is a sophomore in high school and really enjoyed learning a new skill. I enjoyed teaching him.

Have some piles that I need to burn myself. But, burn ban in affect here in April unless pasture. No brush piles right now. Oops, sorry I was burning my pasture and that brush pile caught on fire.

I've got A. D. D. So I finished a project I started the other day. I had to pick up a new 2.5" ball valve as the old one was leaking real bad. I needed to be there for a work related trip (I've got an essential business) I put this together at least 20 years ago. It's a 5 chime real deal ATSF locomotive whistle...I forgot how loud it is. I'm going to run the neighbors crazy. The echo off of the canyon below us is incredible.... IMG_20200423_091608452.jpeg IMG_20200423_130838.jpeg
