I'm looking for this fuel pump drive gear for my Potvin. Does anyone know of one for sale? Someone said that a Flathead speedo gear is the same. 91032410_3109604902383108_2846046760000815104_o.jpg image004.jpg image005.png

  4. I did not know Speedwell made a blower for a VW. What a rare piece that is.

It's a modernized repro of the old Pepco unit from the 1950's. They are available brand new from Speedwell for a couple grand.

    1956 Pontiac Dual Quad Setup

The intake manifold carries the casting number D-32960. This shows as being the early/prototype intake for the 1956 Pontiac 316/317 V8 engine. This was the intake that was developed for NASCAR and brought so much success to Pontiac/GM. Some sources say there were as few as 20 of these intake made.

This would be perfect for the Fairlane, but I would have to wonder how much power could be gained or lost going from a Holley.

Some of the linkage is visible. It looks like the two sides are hooked together and the middle carb would be used as the primary, probably used for the idle setting with the idle circuits blocked off on the four outer carbs. Seems like that would make tuning much easier. The intake manifold is probably a factory single carb unit with the mounts for the outer carbs spliced into the runners at the intake ports.

    Hello,

Tommy Ivo has always been a step ahead of others in his builds. With the competition ramping up in the 1959 time period, he decided to go with a 671 supercharger in his single engine FED for better results. The single Hilborn Injected Buick FED was well known and won plenty of awards and class records. But the need for speed…

The 1959 year at Lions Dragstrip was one of the most exciting years for drag racing.

But, somehow, the 671 add on and tune did not produce the results necessary for a successful campaign. So, a new build of a twin injected Buick FED was created and started winning instantly.

The results speak for themselves. Power and more power to crack the record books.

I've got one of these in my parts stash as well, except for the air cleaner. Oddly the most rare part of this setup seems to be the correct thermostat housing, its a different shape than any others used by Pontiac. Production numbers are around 100 units from the research I've seen and I've personally laid eyes on about a dozen intakes myself.
