    Thanks for the photo of the pool at Look Park. Went to Look Park a few years ago and couldn't find the pool. Was it filled in ? Anyone know ? Thanks again, great memories of the park & pool.

    the scaffolding was allowed the 500 infield until 1960 when one tipped over in the third turn, killing 2 people and injuring many more. That may have been 50 plus high. Everybody leaned forward to see the cars on the parade lap.

    The first photo shows Don Hawley in the Bromme Offy which became famous and known as "Andy Gump". I think the car is in the Speedway Motors Museum today.

    The second shot shows mechanic Floyd Trevis standing on the trailer with the McNamara roadster. Dick Rathman drove the car to 4th in the 1956 500. Sometimes overlooked Trevis was a outstanding builder and a great mechanic.
