Do you know if the lady that was on HAMB and started to restore this one is still working on it. Haven't seen an update in a very long time.

The last I'd seen was it was running and driving, but that has been 8 years ago. Her name is Kathy, she lived South of Houston, and her screen name is "Kisam", and the car is named "Tuffy". This is the last post about the car going to the roundup: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/tuffy-does-roundup.689653/

If it's not already it should be on the Wheels and Stance thread.

The Chrisman coupe was fixed just right before Barris touched it.

Must admit I like the Barris version, always have!
Never really sure why it got such a bad rap.
Was it because it was a ‘famous’ car before Barris got it?

Would it have been better received if he had started from scratch?!

In the '60s there was a Pop-Artist of some note who bought a drawing by daVinci and erased it. Titled Drawn by da Vinci Erased by Rashenburg and displayed it. To me that is what Barris did, built by Chrisman erased by Barris. It is a long time deal with cars. If you think it is finished just watch what the next owner does to it. As long as they exist they are never finished.

  30. You're on the right track, Gonzo. The huge whitewalls and 12 spokes are not right, but that's an easy fix.
