The photos are great, thanks for posting. How I'd love to have the one of Gene Vincent.

It's a 21'' 90's Sabian Phil Collins Signature HH Dry Ride, very smooth wash with a nice ping!

They are awesome, the only thing for me they are a little to early. I definitely have a bias to metal rim drums, bass excluded.

Great finish! The bells on those high hat cymbals crack me up!

Yep, the hi hat is tiny with huge bells is odd, I believe the first hi hat was only 6'' diameter. When I look at that kit it makes me remember of all those old cartoons, I know the set is older then the cartoon era but I can still hear those turtle shells in my head.

Here is something just saw today...

If you have some spare change sitting around you can own a piece of history!
    Roughly $39,000 all in...

quick85 : I figured LBCD would expound on Radio Kings but I can give you the basics. They are the top of the line drums produced by Slingerland company in the 30’s through 50’s. Pre television, hence the name. Awesome quality, great sound. Mostly in bigger sizes with 22”, 24” and 26” bass drums. Mainly before the popularity of the 20” bass drums. Very sought by collectors, but great playing drums as well.

Thanks for the explanation, Bowie. It's a term I hadn't heard before. Every day can
    be a learning experience.

Since my weekly church praise band gig is on hiatus, I set up my original Slingerland Stage Band set in the garage. Just to stay in the groove. BE8ABEF7-D891-46C3-BD7B-C0A48CBDED3F.jpeg 08676FB4-948E-4512-AD29-91857FEBFCC9.jpeg

Picked up this Slingerland kit the other day...needs some TLC, chrome is pitted and dirty and the shells need a couple coats of paste wax. Snare cleaned up ok!

Oooh... Cloud badge! Early 50's? Were they ever wrapped? 8"x12", 9"x13", 14"x14", 14"x20"? Very nice!

Fooled me , looking at the pic’s! I was wondering about the Conway. So, reissued cloud badge? Still a nice set.

Thanks!! Nashville is the more desirable period but the Conway period has some great kits too. Here is a Buddy Rich tribute from the Conway era. DW owner John Good just purchased all the rights to the Slingerland Co.

I had seen that about DW. Looking forward to see reviews of them. I guess I’m kind of stuck in a Niles state of mind.
