Look harder. Been doing it for 10 years now.... If you're smart, you'll figure it out.

When the NZ government put the country into tight lockdown they included a wage subsidy for employers with an on line application set up. Billions of dollars were paid out in days ensuring that most jobs would be saved. There is some unemployment resulting from the lockdown, and some businesses will fail, but an honest effort has been made to ensure most receive wages and will have jobs to go back to.
We are waiting for an announcement Monday next, when government will make a decision whether to continue or slightly ease the lockdown. Last few days have seen less than 20 new virus cases each day, but as they point out "we are not out of the woods yet"
In my case life goes on pretty much as normal, just can't go out to buy paint and stuff, or visit with friends.
    Stay home, stay safe.

  3. Return to normal is not gonna be the same as the old normal, probably ever. Geography is probably play a part in how folks view this anticipated return to the way things were. Less people equates to less occasion to catch this thing, and by extension, to less disruption. It is however, only a stopgap. I think it's going to take good science and a focused effort to stabilize this on a national(and probably global) scale. It's going to take a greater effort to keep society stable during that time. Keep an open eye, keep yourselves and your loved one's safe. Take care, all.
