To be fair, you deserve an explanation as to what you are looking at. The shiny polished chrome valve cover was what was known in the NAVY as a " show cover " and it was made out of tin. When there would be top brass that would be coming to do an inspection of the ship, the non polished aluminum valve covers would be taken off and the " show covers " would be put on strictly for show. After the inspection, they would be stowed away and the regular more beefy non polished valve covers would be put back on. Now you know the rest of the story.

Yes good for you! In 58 less than 2% of Edsels came with a lever column shift instead of the push button teletouch that was in the middle of the steering wheel . This style horn ring came on the lever style column and is quite hard to find! Nice one Slopok!

Movable support for holding pipes in place while welding them together.

Does it have something to do with either building or repairing wooden wagon wheels?

  18. Not quite that old, but you might be getting warmer.

It appears to be cast iron, would this item be found in a traditional blacksmiths shop, from the late 1800's? I think I have it, its a unit to keep cylinders secured for transport.

Is it related to early tire repair or removal?

Potentially a tool to remove split rims with?

  25. Interesting guesses, but no winners yet.

  26. Hint time...it does relate to wheels, and it dates to the 1920s.

It definitely appears to be a type of turn buckle / tensioning devise for cables, but I know that cant be correct! Its an early devise used in wheel alignment !
Is it a devise to adjust mechanical brake rods?
