Hot Rods pretty little mocking bird

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hitchhiker, Apr 11, 2020.

  1. Hello my Hamb brothers and sisters. I hope you all are well during these crazy times. I'm just dropping in to say hello and I miss you guys.

I miss spending time here and truth be told have been checked out of here for a long time now which sucks. I wish I could still be a trolling arsehole, I mean contribute here like I used to in the good old days.....but the good news is!!!! I'm applying my knowledge learned here from many of you guys and building hot rods. I've got about 2000 sqft of hot rod shop and another 1000 of parts warehouse(new and used pre war early ford parts for sale) and... I'm perfectly adapted for social isolation and have a mountain of projects going keeping me busy. I hope you guys are passing the time well.

I just thought I'd pop in and say #hotrodsrule that's insta-lingo for hot rods rule for you old farts still using computers...

Anyways...here's a picture to make this about something IMG_20200405_174609_249.jpeg

  4. It's mainly being used as a gas powered dumpster these days around the shop. Currently has a load of scrap in the bed from cleaning up this week.

I think the headlights look just fine, would not change a thing. IMHO, YMMV.

Yes, the truck is very cool. But is no one curious about the two roadsters peeking into this image? That blue one looks kinda low...

Tan roadster is a stocker getting a makeover like my truck. It's also getting a cragar crossflow ohv conversion. Should be a ripper. Updates to follow now tga3t i can work on them

Thanks for the update. Your truck build was one of the first I followed here and it was both fun and educational to follow! Please post when you can.

When I see that Truck I think of JohnBoy 15 years after leaving the Farm and getting hooked on Hop-Up...;)

  26. Damn, maybe I should take that blue roadster off your hands. I can park it next to the roadster pickup I got from you...that is still waiting for my attention.

Trust me, nobody would mistake Hitchhiker for John Boy. :D

And nobody's happier than me to see Matt settled in the new shop. I've helped move both of those roadsters more than once over the years--these are obligations I accept as a trailer owner. And to be fair, I came away with some pretty cool parts...

I also donated a firewall for the blue one. But Matt had to earn it by dismantling the rest of the cowl it came with.
