Hi Noel. You in "quarantine" like the rest of us? I have watched a few videos from SM and got to see my car cruising. Is Full Custom Garage on Foxtel?
That picture of the roadster was done years ago when Steven Kelly(Pauls son) did a photo shoot that they used in an overseas magazine.

I'm probably wrong, but to me they look more like daffodils or jonquils or some wild flower.

    Hey LBCD,

Thanks for showing the updated recent photos of the road to the beaches along the OC coastline. That road was home from 1959 surf trips to last year, when I decided the PCH route was better than the freeway going to and from the Lions Dragstrip Museum. (It usually is...) If the proposal goes through, that Naval Ammunition Base will be getting some new changes in that area by the bridge/Surfside area. I am sure it is on hold for now.

That bridge at the northern border of Surfside was the key spot to check out the Surfside Jetty, next to the Naval Base. When the swells were right, that place got huge waves rolling down the jetty. But, the key was access, since the community was private and gate guarded. Even though everyone could see those waves breaking, after finding scarce parking, it was a long walk to the jetty and back. So, most went on the same road to Huntington Beach Pier. Otherwise, it was locals only or a few brave souls from LB.

Note: that spot where the photo was taken was the favorite vehicle check point for the local CHP group. No one could turn around and evade the checkpoint. I am not sure if they have continued doing that particular spot for check points, but the locals could not get around it by any means. My 1965 El Camino was fairly stock, but they caught the super high beam headlights I installed (in the place of the regular high beam lights) for high desert driving with our motorcycles in the back.

It is disheartening that the situation is what it takes for the road to be back to 1960 usage. But, one day, we will all be back in play. (It was noted that the CHP gave out over 400 tickets on the empty freeways for speeders. "Watch your 6...") As always, great photos and very timely...

I understand that in Australia you have to have fenders. My compliments for making fenders look good on your car.
