Not so much a creep up, but a flying leap. I've bought nice, solid Falcons for a hundred bucks, but those days are long gone. The last round body I bought was $1100 and I thought it was a great deal.

Here in the land of Neverwinter, an unmolested round body can fetch $6-8K, and then you start your project.

1965 Falcon, my daughters daily driver in high school. 6 cylinder with a auto, lowered it a couple inches, smooth driving car. She’s off to college, and it’s just sits in the back yard. My son wants to make it into a gasser haha

Hell yeah it is. That car is finished. I would drive the wheels off of it, put them back on, and do it again.

No V8 is required to cruise. I don't have one in mine, and I can haul comfortably at 85, all day.

I was just thinking that sectioning down an impala roof and getting glass to fit would be impossibly difficult. Corvair roof would be a damn sight easier. Still looks like a photo shop exercise.

Where do all these inland long roof surf machines go to actually surf?

Yep,the more I look, the more obvious it gets. I'm sure you could find the parts that would make it work, but it would be a job. Not digging the lowered side trim.

It appears to be Photoshop-sectioned in the picture, making the trim appear lowered.
