Hot Rods Drilling flywheel

    '49-'53 Ford ,Mercury flywheels are the same hunk of iron with different bolt patterns.

    Before having my Olds flywheel and pressure plate balanced I had our local automotive machine shop drill the flywheel for the Borg & Beck pattern so I could run either type. So yes, it can and has been done. Would I attempt to do it myself? Not without a mill and a rotary table.
    I’m sure it could be done (and probably was years ago) by very careful layout and drilling but I wouldn’t take the chance these days.
